A great night tonight in Club Áras. Our annual awards took place where all divisions of our club came together to honour our stars. The prize given started off with the ladies footballer of the year, presented by chairperson Cormac Galvin, this award went to a young, dynamic Chloe Landers, next up was the camogie player which Ger Motherway , camogie chairperson presented to a long standing, well deserved Ashley Corcoran. Well done ladies!! Next up was the men, club chairman Alan Hennessy went on to present our footballer of the year award. This went to a very popular (and suprised) Keith mc Carthy, our hurling award went to a “gentle giant” in the form of Ciarán o Mahony and last but not least, club person of the year, which was presented by club president John Parker, went to a very hard working (with both camogie and GAA) reliable and passionate Billy (taggert) o Connell! Well done to all, yere work both on and off the field has paid off!! The club is in good safe hands! EOCHAILL ABÚ!!
Some pictures from day one of Eochaill Óg Easter camp, where in the morning 31 boys from 13 to 16 were put thru their paces under the watchful eye of Martin Colman. An excellent 2hour session of catching, striking etc which ended in a very fast, exciting skillfull game of Hurling. Then in the evening,Pat Moore and his assistant Johnny gave an excellent 2.5hours of coaching to our coaches, where they brought them all back to basics and began at the beginning. A place many hadnt been to in a while!!A great day overall.
Thank you to everybody who came to the table top quiz last night, it was great to see such support with over 20 tables! We now have €1450 to start us on our way! We would like to thank those who gave us prizes,
