“Train with me “ programme

Train with me program was started a few years ago to introduce parents into the club and teach them a few basic hurling and football skills along the way!! So on Saturday 3rd October we held this year’s Train with me Day. On the day we had 54 children along with their parents. Coaches on the day were Bill Cooper (hurling skills), Leigh Desmond (hurling skills), Andrew Joyce (football skills) and Keith McCarthy (football skills). All the players/parents on the day rotated around to all the different coaches learning their new skills!! Great fun was had by all on a beautiful Saturday morning.

​At the end of the coaching session we had a tug of war between a mixture of parents and kids!!! Some parents got a little too competitive on the day, but it was all good fun. Once were we finished everyone headed into the club house for refreshments, thanks to all the parents who provided the sandwiches etc, a special thank you to the four coaches who helped on the day. 

Over 50 5/6 year olds dragged along parents, guardians, siblings, grandparents ..anybody that would train them!!the fun, laughter and encouragement could be heard all over or club, (and that was just the children !!)
