The Youghal Fé 14 hurling team travelled to Ballincollig on 18th April for the Feile ‘B’ final against Lisgoold. Youghal won the toss and elected to play into the breeze in the first half. From the throw-in it was evident that both teams were up for it. However, it was apparent that both teams were edgy as it took a while for them to settle. Jake McCarthy opened the scoring for Youghal with a well taken point after 15 minutes. Lisgoold replied with a point 2 minutes later followed by a point from Jake O’Brien and another from full forward Aaron Creamor, leaving the half time score at 0.3 to 0.1. Youghal began the second half playing with the wind with 2 points in succession from Aaron Creamor & Jake O’Brien. However Lisgoold responded and Kelvin Yellop pulled off a great save to deny the blue & gold. But sustained pressure from Lisgoold produced a goal to level affairs. A super point by Danny Dorrian edged Youghal in front but not for long as Lisgoold raised the white flag. Dorrian was now showing what he’s capable of and produced another fine point to put Youghal in front again. Sub, Cian Coleman popped over a lovely score followed by points from Jake O’Brien and Aaron Creamor to leave the final score at 0.11 to 1.3. Team: Kelvin Yellop, Ian Fitzgerald Hehir, Cian O’Sullivan, Brian O’Driscoll, Evan Villis, Ethan Cliffe, Oran Finn, Aidan Kelly, Danny Dorrian, Jake O’Brien, Jake McCarthy, Alan Carter, Culann Geary, Aaron Creamor, Devon O’Donoghue, Niall Sheehan, Joshua Varian, Dean Coleman, Adam Dempsey, Shane Morgan, Cian Coleman Butler, Conor O’Neill, Nathan Daly, Oreoluwa Amosu, Aaron Fitzgerald, Sele Ovianria.
