On Saturday June 15th the Youghal girls headed to Ballynoe to take part in the 2nd Imokilly Blitz of the year. Teams taking part were the hosts St. Catherine’s, Aghada and Erins Own and ourselves. Our first game was up against St. Catherine’s who got some early goals to put a bit of daylight between themselves and the Youghal girls from which we couldn’t pull back. In our second game Aghada beat us after a strong first half. However the girls were improving with every game and having kept Aghada scoreless in the second half we were in a buoyant mood heading into the Erin’s Own game. This game was a cracker with 2 even sides giving it their all to finish level on 2-1 each. Many thanks to the St. Catherine’s Club who provided refreshments afterwards for both players and supporters afterwards.

The girls played their final league game at home during the week where they took on Castlelyon’s. A great win for the girls who are going strong in the league this year.
Youghal 6-8 v St Catherine's 3-0 Youghal made the trip to play Cobh in their 2nd league match on a horrible wet Monday evening. The first 2/3 were stalemate on the scoreboard with both defense’s on top and scoring chances at a minimum. Towards the end of the 2nd third Emer Hogan drilled over the opening score to give the Youghal girls the lead. With the wind to their advantage Cobh piled on the pressure in the final third to score 2 late goals and 1 point. Next up is our return game against Castlelyons.
