Youghal's U5 & U6's played in two further multi-club hurling blitzes over the summer. The first was in Killeagh on Saturday 26th July and the second was on Saturday 23rd August in our club field. On both occasions Youghal fielded five teams of seven players with a mixture of U5 & U6 boys and girls in each team. The other clubs that were represented were Midleton, Castlemartyr, Watergrasshill, Kilta Óg and Killeagh. While the emphasis was on fun and the participation of all those that attended, the children gave us every reason to be proud of their efforts and enthusiasm for the game of hurling. All those that participated with managing our teams on the day of the blitz's deserve great credit for their excellent organization and a special note of appreciation to all those who helped with the refreshments after the blitz in our own club field. A special mention to Youghal and Cork Intermediate Hurlers Richie Cunningham and John Grace who were present with All Ireland Intermediate Hurling Cup, which proved a great hit with all the kids present.
