MAHC Eochaill 5-19 St. Vincents 0-9

​Our Minor hurlers travelled to Killeagh on Thursday 5th July to take on St Vincents in round 1 of the East Region A grade hurling championship. We started brightly and took the game to St Vincents with Ronan O’Sullivan & Colin Keenaghan at midfield supplying good ball to the inside forward line of Mark Coady, David O’Mahony & Ollie Dempsey. After 10 mins we were 2-3 to 0-2 up. Dale Donoughe finished of the first half with a well taken goal after good work by Lee Mc Carthy and Chris Savage.
The second saw St Vincents make a good start and only for some resolute defending by Bill McGrath, Chris Morrison, and Michael O’Neill they might have forged a way back into the game. Mark Flaherty and Matthew Farrell combined to set up David O’Mahony for a goal; from here on in we were in control of the game and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Next up is the winners of Nemo Rangers & Inniscarra.
