MFL Youghal 1-14 Erins Own 2-3

The team were short a number of regulars for various reasons but welcomed back Ollie Dempsey after a period out through injury. The team played with the strong wind in the first half & took the early lead with a succession of points followed by an outstanding goal from Andrew Joyce. However, Erin’s Own scored a goal from a penalty on the stroke of half time to keep the result in doubt. Half Time: Youghal 1.09 Erin’s Own 1.01.
The team played a passing game into the wind in the second half & score some well-worked points. The work rate of the team was very high & they limited Erin’s Own to very few scoring opportunities. The result was is in no doubt for the last 15 minutes though Erin’s Own did score a last minute goal to put a more respectable look on the scoreboard.
