The match was made up of 4 x 10 mins quarters Some fantastic skills where on show on both sides. Kate McCarthy showed great tenacity in between the posts and with the support of her back line, kept the Youghal goals intact. After the 1st game, Youghal led by a single point scored by Chloe O'Connell from midfield.
There were several chances from both sides, which were not converted and we must mention the goalie for Aghada who on one occasion saved 4 attempts in one attack to keep their goal intact. Aghada made several changes to their starting line up, such is the depth of their squad in the U10 category. These fresh legs really challenged the Youghal team who remained focused and determined. A fine team combination starting in defence, through midfield and into the forward, saw Chloe O'Connell again register a score, a fine goal taken with great skill and speed. With very little between them, both teams gave one final effort, with near misses for both sides. With time running out, the sliotar was lifted into the forward line for Youghal and again, with the player of the match display, Chloe O'Connell latched onto the opportunity and didn't hesitate striking it first time and leaving Aghada's goalie with little chance of saving. A very narrow win for Youghal but great credit to both teams with the effort, commitment and skills that they showed proudly applauded by all the parents and spectators who were present on the evening. The Youghal Team on this evening who all contributed so much to the game were Aine Walsh, Amy Whyte, Caitlin Murphy, Caoimhe Whelan, Caoimhe McSweeney, Cassie Irwin O'Brien, Chloe O’Connell, Emily Gallogley , Emma Delaney, Hannah O’Keeffe, Kate McCarthy, Natasha Killgannon, Abby Crowe
