U12GFL Youghal Gold 6-4 watergrasshill 3-3

our Gold team continued with their unbeaten league run by over-coming a young competitive Watergrasshill team on a glorious summer’s evening in Watergrasshill. With temperatures in the mid 20s this was an excellent game by both sides who played some lovely attacking football in extremely hot conditions. Special mention must go to the referee Ciara from Bride Rovers who sensibly allowed plenty of water breaks throughout the game. WGH struck first with a well taken point by their centre-forward only for the Youghal attack to cancel it out with a well taken goal. It was nip and tuck up to half time with goals from the Youghal girls proving decisive to leave the half-time score 3-2 to 1-3 to the visitors. The 2nd half was played in a similar pattern with the Youghal attack on top of their game scoring a further 3-2 to leave the final score 6-4 to 3-3. This was a great team performance and ice creams on their way home were just rewards for a terrific performance.
