Games have been slack over the last few weeks in the Junior B league.
Even challenge games are few and far between as most of the other teams are doing exams. Our close neighbours Rinn, were able to oblige and kindly came over the border to play a friendly last week. Youghal with only 15 players to choose from started off very strong dominating all over the pitch and showing the Waterford side who was boss. Youghals’ first touch seemed to be way ahead of Rings but bad wide's and trying to go for goal instead of taking their points resulted in a half time score of 0-5 to 0- 1 when it really should have read much more. Ring who have just won their Junior league division were not coming to Youghal to made fools of and came out in the second half like a new side. The mid field dominated the play with Lisa Prendergast working as a third midfielder coming from centre back the girls couldn’t react to the change and Youghal never got in to the second half. Lucky enough for Youghal their backs played fantastic and Ashleigh Corcoran seemed at ease in full back commanding the spot and not letting any of the forwards get their way, even though there were plenty of chances for Ring. The final result ended in a draw with Ring only scoring from frees in the second half
